Chords intro’d: Dm F A Am A7 G D D7 C G7 Gm7 B7 Em C7 (and, we touched on C6, which is a chord formed by the 4 open strings of your uke. It is also called Am7)
Strums intro’d: single, double, Chattanooga, Calypso, inside-outside, chunk
We’ll warm up with 8 each of some of the strum patterns.
Then, back to the inside-outside plucking pattern with Polly Wolly Doodle (reminder: counting 1,2,3,4, pluck inside strings 3, 2, then outside strings 4, 1)
A review of Gm7 and Evil Ways; and on to Bb. Two ways to shape it will be taught. Slap method next. I’ll be sending videos of other instructors helping you to learn this chord. Remember, once you get comfy with Gm7 shape, Bb shape adds one more finger (ring) positioned on the third fret, 4th string.
An exercise for Bb: 4 strums each:
Bb Gm7 Bb Gm7 Bb Gm7 Bb Gm7
Bb F Bb F Bb F Bb F
Am Bb Am Bb Am Bb Am Bb
We’ll hang with Bb for at least two lessons, using these songs: Deep In The Heart of Texas, I Still Miss Someone, Great Pretender The, Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White.
We’ll close with the inside-outside plucking and Little Brown Jug.
