Newk Lesson #11, July 13, 2017

Covered so far: A,  A7,  Am,  (Am7),  B7,  Bb,  C,  C7,  (Cm),  (Cm6),  D,  D7barred,  D7 open,  Dm,  E7,   Em,  F,  G,  G7,   Gm.

Strums:  Single, double, chattanooga, Calypso, waltz intro, chunking intro, inside-outside plucking (4 beats/measure)

Today, we’ll review inside-outside with Polly Wolly Doodle, then, as requested, learn to change that to a 3 beat waltz pattern, with Oh, My Darling Clementine.

Then, on to the F7. It’s a harder one, but not as cwappy as Bb!  Download Freight Train  and Blue Moon of Kentucky for some fun with this indispensible chord! Both these songs have instrumental interludes.  We’ll hope for Chattanooga on these two songs, but one thing at a time with learning the F7.  It’s two more fingers added to the F chord you already know.
