Covered so far: Chords: A, A7, Am, F, C, C7 (Cm intro’d), D, D7 barred, D7 open or Hawaiian, E7, G, G7, Gm (and Am7/C6 intro’d). Strums: single, double, Chattanooga, Calypso, and intro to waltz. We also touched on the “Chunk”.
Last week we did the 12-bar blues with Kansas City, using all “7” chords, and chunked! We calypso’d with Washington, Washington (D,DU, UDU!!!) and we waltzed a bit with Oh My Darling Clementine. A7 and E7 were learned.
This week, we’ll review chords we’ve learned, using the “Ukulele Chord Chart for Absolute Beginners”. Mark the ones you’ve learned, but include Cm and Am7/C6. Then we’ll play Oh My Darling Clementine to review E7.
We’ll learn two new chords: Bb and Dm. Please download Deep In The Heart Of Texas, Bb. I know you have an earlier version, but it doesn’t have a Bb, so print the one listed here. Also, download Homegrown Tomatoes, to practice Bb. For Dm, we’ll learn the song Mary Mack , which is a great Scottish pub tune!
