Newkulele Lesson #16, July 23, 2015

Last week, we learned F#m and Cm, then used those chords to begin learning “Here, There, and Everywhere”.  Shifting from Bb to Gm over and over, going from B7 to Em (the “twins”), finding difficult chords to shift between, and practicing those combinations: these were the building blocks to gaining success with this song.

We also played a couple of songs from the July 16 jam.

This week, we will continue along with “Here, There, and Everywhere”; but if you can practice at home before we meet  you’ll have more confidence  in Newk class, yah?  Play along with the audio file on that song, that is what those audio files are for!

Then, on to the diminished chords! Please download the following songs and support material; you are about to expand your song repertoire  to  more sophisticated and playful- or even sassy-sounding numbers that you are going to enjoy so much:

When The Red, Red Robin Comes Bob, Bob, Bobbin’ Along
Sidewalks of New York
Let Me Call You Sweetheart
Diminished Chord Shapes

Please let me know if you have questions or problems with using the FUN website to get your Newkulele lesson. You may print this lesson for reference for class, by going to “File”, then “print”.

See you all on Thursday, July 23!
